When we attended the GoodGuys Nationals in Del Mar a couple weekends ago, we were greeted by rain clouds – their drops floating listily all over the fairgrounds. This initially spelled disaster for the entrants to the show. But, by mid-day the sun was shining and everyone at the show was having a great time.
The crazy weather didn’t stop us from tracking down some of the coolest rides in attendance, though. Below you’ll find some of our favorites from the weekend.
Despite the messed-up weather, there were countless cool cars cruising up and down the main strip. None more attention grabbing than Tom Loftin’s ’56 Fairlane Victoria Gasser seen below.

Between the ear shattering exhaust of Tom’s Gasser, and the rest of the great rides cruising their way to the Goodguys Autocross course, there was no shortage of eye-candy. Check out some of the attention grabbing whips.

Once we were done ogling all the gorgeous rides lined up, we made our way over to the autocross course, where we ran into our friend Jeff Thisted, who was busy announcing all the tire shredding goodness going on. Parked right outside the course of cones, was Jeff’s 1955 210 Handyman Wagon – you can read more about it at idrivea55.com. He literally drives that thing all over the country!

In all, it was a great weekend full of amazing cars, burning rubber, and good times. If you’d like to see the winners of GoodGuy’s Special Awards, and the Duel In Del Mar Autocross, check out the GoodGuys website, here. For now, enjoy the gallery of our favorites from the show, below.
