GT500 Among Modern Muscle Offered at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2019

Every Barrett-Jackson Auction is full of adrenaline-pumping moments – some of the most thrilling moments are when a “car for a cause” crosses the auction block. Founded on the principle of helping people in need, Barrett-Jackson continues its 48-year tradition of supporting charity with the sale of 14 vehicles during its 48th Annual Scottsdale Auction, January 12-20, 2019, at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Among those offered will be the rights to VIN 001 of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (Lot #3008).

The 2020 Shelby GT500 comes powered by a 700+ horsepower supercharged V8 which makes it the most potent street-legal production Ford ever. The GT500 builds on the success of the GT350 by leveraging the Ford Performance motorsport expertise. As a result, it is engineered to stand apart on both roadways and tracks with its new technology, performance hardware, in addition to aggressive and functional track-tuned styling.

Ford Motor Company will auction VIN #001 of the exciting new 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which is scheduled to be built in the third quarter of 2019. The winning bidder will be able to order their GT500 in any available configuration, option, and color.

Ford leadership, along with Aaron Shelby, grandson of racing legend Carroll Shelby, will accompany the car on the block for sale on January 18, at approximately 8:30 p.m., and benefits JDFR. The vehicle will be fresh from its unveiling at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition

Ford is offering a second VIN 001 vehicle during the auction, a 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition (Lot #3012) to benefit United Way for Southeastern Michigan. The supercar comes dressed in the famous baby-blue-and-orange Gulf Oil livery to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans-winning GT40 that became one of the most recognizable racecars of all time.

The exterior features exposed carbon fiber A-pillars and sports unique 20-inch one-piece forged aluminum wheels in high-gloss dark stainless with black lug nuts. Orange calipers and silver rearview mirror caps complete the look. Exclusive to 2019 model year cars, the heritage Ford GT features the No. 9 graphics on the hood and doors as well as a ghosted image on the interior door panels.

Inside, Ebony Alcantara wraps the seats, instrument panel, pillars, headliner, and steering wheel. Blue and orange stitching contrasts the seats and steering wheel as well as bright and polished anodized paddle shifters. High-gloss dark stainless appliqués accent the instrument panel, door register bezels, and x-brace to round out the interior.

Powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Ford GT Heritage Edition also features a unique serialized identification plate, plus exposed matte carbon fiber door sills, air register pods, and center console.

The Ford GT is slated to cross the block on January 19, around 8:30 p.m.

2015 Ford Petty’s Garage Stage 2 Mustang GT

Other Mustang’s set for emotion-filled time onstage at the 2019 Scottsdale Auction include a 2015 Ford Petty’s Garage Stage 2 Mustang GT (Lot #3001) and a 2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet (Lot #3011).

The Petty’s Garage Stage 2 Mustang GT is No. 41 of only 43 built. It comes finished in custom two-tone paint featuring pearlized Ford Tuxedo Black over Petty Blue blended with crushed and tumbled glass. Petty’s iconic No. 43 has been ghosted onto the hood and C-pillar.

The car comes powered by a V8 Coyote engine with a Ford Racing/Roush supercharger that produces 627hp and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Other highlights include a MagnaFlow center-exit exhaust system, Petty’s Garage Big Brake Kit upgrade, three-piece HRE wheels wrapped in Continental tires, and a race-inspired spoiler out back.

Inside, the interior features Petty’s Garage floor mats and embroidered headrests, meanwhile, the dash is signed by the King. The entire sale price of this car will benefit the Phoenix-based Barrow Neurological Foundation, which provides philanthropic support of Barrow Neurological Institute in its mission to save human lives through innovative treatment, groundbreaking, curative research, and by educating the next generation of the world’s leading neuro-clinicians and researchers. It is slated to cross the block at 5 p.m. on January 17.

2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet

The 2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet is set to benefit the Fighter Country Foundation at Luke Air Force Base. The car offered is one of just 68 2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet vehicles. It features exclusive 50th Anniversary badging and is serialized for collectability. This is an “off-road only” car, race-prepped and turn-key for NHRA racing, and is not street legal.

Powered by a 5.2-liter Coyote engine with supercharger mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission, the Cobra Jet makes use of a Ford 9-inch solid rear axle with a drag racing suspension system, as well as a “Funny Car” roll cage optimized for rigidity and safety. The car also features FIA race seats and uniquely designed racing wheels. The car is slated to be sold at 7:30 p.m. on January 19.

2016 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R

Other late model charity vehicles include NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon’s personal 2016 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R (Lot #3007). One of only 570 C7.R-equipped coupes with just 747 miles on the odometer, the sale will benefit the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation.

Also fresh from its unveiling at the NAIAS, the all-new 2020 Supra (Lot #3010) is offered to benefit the American Heart Association, and the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which provides help for post-9/11 impacted veterans and their families. Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer will accompany the one-of-a-kind car – which will carry VIN 20201 and many unique features – onto the auction block.

Bumblebee Camaros as seen in the “Transformers”

Additionally, Chevrolet will offer four “one-of-a-kind” Bumblebee Camaros as seen in the “Transformers” movies ‒ the original Camaro Bumblebee (Lot #3009) as seen in the first “Transformers” in 2007 and then modified for the follow-up movie, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen;” the 2010 Camaro (Lot #3009.1) as seen in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon;” the 2013 Camaro (Lot #3009.2) as seen in “Transformers: Age of Extinction;” and the 2016 Camaro (Lot #3009.3) as seen in “Transformers: The Last Knight.” The entire hammer price from the sale of these four Camaros – which will sell together as a group – will benefit Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families.
