Check out this 1934 Ford Tudor from the golden age of So-Cal  kustoms. According to Kustomrama, Gil Lippincott of South Gate, California purchased this Tudor in 1949 and though he was too young to hold title to the car, he got around that detour by registering the car in his mother’s name.
In 1950, Gil took the car to Barris Kustoms where Sam Barris painted the car in nitrocellulose lacquer. Next, a black and yellow tuck and roll vinyl interior was stitched by a guy from Tijuana who lived in Gil’s garage while he did the work. Other mods to the car include tear drop taillights and shaved horns and spare tire.
In 1951, Gil’s brother blew the engine and it was put in storage on blocks where it remained until 1998. When the car was pulled out of storage it was still in amazingly good condition having never been wrecked or patched.
Gil decided a full modernization was in order and in January of 1998 the car was restored. While the Barris paint job was still in good condition, he decided to go with a repaint in British racing green and a contrasting cream leather interior. The original chassis was ditched and replaced with a new one from TCI and a crate 350 Chevy and 700r4 transmission was installed. The car sits nicely on Mclean wire wheels and black wall radials. Gil sold the car to Jan Barrett of Phoenix just last month.
