We love seeing killer burnouts and none can compare to those laid down at the annual SummerNats Burnout Championship in Australia. This year was no different with some of the most impressive competitive burnouts we’ve seen yet. Check out this video we found on YouTube featuring the top 10 burnouts from the mid-January event.
The competition at the SummerNats Burnout Championship was fierce this year. So far we’ve shown you the burnouts laid down by Greg Young in his ‘67 four-door Chevelle and by Gary Myers in his ‘72 Ford Falcon XA GT Coupe, complete with purple smoke tires. Both of these burnouts made it into the top ten, but there were far more competitors that laid down just as impressive smoke shows.
The video above features clips of the top 10 burnouts at the SummerNats event. First up is Chris Christou and his blue XY Ford Falcon who took the tenth place position, followed by ninth-place finisher Ross Heasley and his red HQ Holden. Rounding out the bottom five positions are Jason Rose with his red and black Commodore in eighth, Shannon Heraud with her red Torana in seventh, Domenico Luci with his orange HZ Holden in sixth, and Dean Patterson in his black Ford Fairlane.
The top finishers of the competition include Justin Web in fourth, which you can see in the video tearing it up in his unique black HX Panel Van. Gary Myers, who we featured earlier, took third in his ‘72 Falcon, followed by second-place finisher Greg Young, who we also featured tearing it up in his ‘67 Chevelle.
At the end of the video is the daddy of them all- a burnout completed by Warren Eustace in his ‘74 Holden HQ Sedan painted matt blue with purple flames. After running the rubber clean off his back tires, it is obvious why Eustace won the entire competition.
With the annual SummerNats competition heating up more and more every year, we can’t wait to see what the 2013 event brings. Who knows, maybe you could join in the fun and give some of these Aussie competitors a run for their money.
