When Hilton and Jennifer Ward of Granada Hills, California first met some 13 1/2 years ago, one of the first things to bring them together was their mutual love of classic GM cars. And it was the F-Body family in particular that helped spark a romance that has not only lasted since, but has brought to Jennifer and her husband two beautiful children, who we don’t doubt are also fans of GM muscle.
If you really want to know just how much of a family bond our featured F-car, a ’72 Formula 350 has created over the years, then just ask proud co-owner, Jennifer about the significance that the Sundance Orange pony holds to hers and Hilton’s family. “I found it and made him go look at it when we first met,” says Ward of the early years of her relationship with Hilton and the 2nd-Gen Firebird.
A loving wife as much as a proud F-Body owner, Jennifer actually gives the true credit for the purchase of the Formula over to hubby Hilton. “He bought it to impress me, which must’ve worked because 13 1/2 years and 2 kids later we are still together,” says Jennifer of the unique bond caused by her and her husband’s clean Pontiac.
But don’t think for a second that Hilton and Jennifer’s Formula 350 is just a clean pony packed with sentimental value; the Bird is actually stuffed with a small-block that just so happens to have a .030″-inch overbite, and aside from being big in bore, the sweet Pontiac is backed by a TH350 transmission and has, in the past, been clocked around 140 miles per hour at the top end.
Hilton and Jennifer Ward’s ’72 Formula 350 is a Bird with family ties that takes no prisoners, and if you’re ever caught at an intersection anywhere in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, this is probably one Pontiac that’s best to avoid!
