If you don’t know who Richard Petty is it would surprise just about everyone else who does know him. Labelled as “the King”, Petty has a long career of victories, and setting records that may never be beaten. When he retired from racing, he didn’t retire from everything and anything that had to do with it and is still at it today.  Our friends at Jet-Hot High Performance Coatings recently got the honor of touring Petty’s Garage.

Jet-Hot has been helping us around our own shop lately by coating the exhaust for some of our project cars, like Project Swinger, and they’ve got some interesting things up their sleeves as well with their new coating processes that they’ve been busy with. So it was a treat for them to get out of their own shop and see what is happening at Petty’s Garage for a change of scenery.

You can’t miss the unbelievably clean shop or the immaculate cars that sit parked inside, and we’re sure it’s a treat for anyone who gets the opportunity to walk down those halls and past those cars. But the behind the scenes tour that Jet-Hot was able to take in was enough to leave them just a little more thrilled than the rest of the group. Some of the older cars brought back memories and were great to see again.

From some of the pictures that Jet-Hot shared with us on their site, you can see that Petty is still getting his hands dirty, test fitting parts and keeping himself involved in the day to day operations. If you’ve ever had an opportunity to meet Richard Petty, then you know he is a very approachable person – which is pretty cool for someone who has been nicknamed “the King”.
