You probably already know this, but Barrett-Jackson will have their highly anticipated auction on June 17-19, 2021. This auction will be held at no other than the Las Vegas Convention Center. This auction is big news for Mustang lovers and collectors. One car to keep your eye on is an ultra-rare 2015 Shelby GT350R that was formerly owned by Jon Gruden. Yes, that Jon Gruden. The Las Vegas Raiders head coach and Super Bowl champion. It is also one of 37 total 2015 Shelby GT350Rs ever built. This car is Lot #715.
Ford marked the 50th anniversary of the original 1965 Shelby GT350R by bringing back this iconic track ready car in 2015. The original model was limited to a production of only 37 built. To commemorate this Ford again only built 37 cars in 2015. Purchase of these were limited to Ford family and VIPs. This particular one is serial #10 of 37 and only has 157 miles on it.
It is powered by a 5.2L V8 engine that produces 526hp. This car utilized a flat-plane crankshaft that delivers peak horsepower at 7,500 rpm to 8,250 rpm redline. The GT350R rides on a set of MagneRide electronic dampers and features are spartan driver-focused interior. This car is also sitting on a set of Carbon Revoltion’s one-piece carbon-fiber wheels, which sport a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. There is a lot of power to stop here. The GT350R is equipped with 6-piston Brembo brakes up front and 4-piston in the rear.
Ready for even more options? These GT350Rs come with Equipment Group 920A and Electronics Package, which includes Ford’s Sync 3 with navigation, a 7 speaker premium sound system and dual zone air conditioning. This particular car is features an Avalanche Gray Metallic finish with red-accented black racing stripes. Not only that but it features a carbon-fiber spoiler and grille.
