The King of Cool’s Rides and Gear

Steve McQueen’s legendary 1926 Excelsior Super X flattrack motorcycle deserves a special mention. He used it personally at his ranch. It carries a pre-auction estimate of $125,000-$150,000. Another item from McQueen is his original blue Glenoit jacket adorned with Gulf Oil patches. He wore it during the filming of the 1971 racing film Le Mans and has an estimated value of $50,000-$70,000.

Legends’ Personal Machines

Making its auction debut is the unique Chamberlain Searcher 1, a one-off supercar custom-built for NBA icon Wilt Chamberlain in 1986, carrying an estimate of $300,000-$500,000. As for classic car enthusiasts, they will have to eye on Jack Nicholson’s personally owned 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster convertible, featured in The Two Jakes and previously donated by the actor to the Petersen Museum. Additionally, a 1967 CZ 250 motorcycle ridden by Paul Newman in the film Sometimes a Great Nation adds further star power to the motorcycle offerings.

More Movie Machines & Julien’s Auctions

The auction includes further screen-used vehicles, such as the Suzuki GSXS 750 from John Wick: Chapter 2 and Ben Affleck’s BMW R 1150 from Paycheck. A 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow owned by famed restaurateur Madame Sylvia Wu and a fully restored 1953 Chevrolet Popcorn and Cotton Candy truck represent other unique automotive lots. This Julien’s Auctions event offers a diverse range of vehicles connected to Hollywood history.

A Star-Studded Collection for a Cause

This is a chance for collectors to acquire vehicles and memorabilia directly linked to iconic figures and films. Furthermore, the event supports a worthy cause, with a portion of the auction proceeds benefiting the Petersen Automotive Museum’s educational programs, aiming to inspire future generations of automotive enthusiasts.
