Bringing your older Challenger up to 392 standards now only requires a bolt on solution from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE). The Indiana company, with engine packages for everything from SSRs to Corvettes to Vipers, is now offering a supercharger for 2009-2010 Dodge Challengers.

According to the company, baseline testing showed that the 6.1L Challenger SRT8 produced 373 rear wheel horsepower and 355 lb.-ft. of torque. After adding the supercharger, the LPE-tuned 6.1L Challenger produced 500 rear wheel horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque at 6 psi boost.

BY comparison, this year’s Inaugural Edition Challenger SRT-8 392 delivers 470 flywheel horsepower and 470 ft-lb of flywheel torque from its 6.4-liter HEMI, easily surpassed by the Lingenfelter modified version.

Based on the hugely popular TVS2300 intercooled supercharger, the Lingenfelter folks add their high flow air intake, upgrade the fuel injectors and calibrate the installation. Chassis dyno reports before and after are provided and the company reports that drivability and highway gas mileage not adversely affected.

When the upgrade is done at the LPE facility, the car also receives Lingenfelter fender badges and a Lingenfelter certificate of authenticity. Conversion takes about a week and starts from $8995.
