Master Power Brakes was founded in 1983 with one mission in mind – to supply you and your classic car with something better than salvage yard brake parts and something safer than the drum brakes it likely had from the factory. Their systems are carefully engineered to work for your particular vehicle model and perhaps most importantly, to be easy to install.
As the company’s mission statement notes that cars are a way of life for the Master Power team, it’s easy to see how their focused approach to outfitting muscle cars with real brakes has been a successful one over the last 29 years. Master Power is on of the leading aftermarket manufacturer of disc brake conversion kits with both front and rear systems available for hundreds of applications covering decades of model years over 14 brands and includes a separate Street Rod product line.
For example, just in their Ford brake line they have kits to work on the Crown Victoria, Fairlane, Falcon, Galaxie, Maverick, Mustang, Ranchero, Thunderbird, and Torino, not to mention “Full Size Car” listed from 1928-1972 and “9-inch Late Large Bearing”.
In addition, they specialize in well-put-together Chevrolet and Plymouth/Dodge A/B/E-body suspension kits that replace all of the wear items like ball joints, tie rod ends, and control arm bushings. The kits are available in both graphite polyurethane construction or the stock rubber configuration and cover many of your typical late ’60’s/early ’70’s musclecar and truck applications.
They also have a great support website, 911brakes.com, that places an immense amount of solid technical information at your fingertips to help you in selecting the right products for your car, how to properly size power boosters and master cylinders and other helpful hints. The website also provides installation and instruction manuals, troubleshooting steps, and various diagrams to assist you in your project.
We are looking forward to working on upcoming stories and projects with the Master Power team!
