Acquiring a beautiful new hot rod can only be topped by one thing-helping people-and this weekend at the Mecum Original Spring Classic Auction in Indianapolis, Indiana, hot rod enthusiasts will be able to do both as they bid on a ‘32 Ford 3 Window Coupe donated to benefit the Curing Kids Cancer organization. How’s that for a charitable affair?
The 1932 Ford 3 Window Coupe was donated to the auction house by Brian and Linda Perilloux of Katy, Texas, in it’s current, fully restored condition.
Built by Street Rods by Michael, the car features a Pete & Jake’s chrome front suspension, a Ford 9-inch with a four-bar coilover rearend, GM 11-inch disc brakes in the front, Ford drum brakes in the rear and a 16-gallon rear fuel tank. Powering this fine machine is a GM 350 ci Vortec V-8 with three, two-barrel carburetors and a Walker Z-series radiator. It is tied to a 700R4 overdrive transmission, moving as much of the powerhouse’s 330 hp to the wheels as possible.
Inside, you’ll find a custom Ultra leather interior with Wiseguys seats, a LeCarra steering wheel, ididit steering column, Lokar shifter, power windows and a Vintage Air temperature-control unit.
Gorgeous in its red and black color scheme carried throughout the car, the 1932 Ford will hit the auction block on Friday, May 17th, at about 4:30 p.m. All proceeds from this car, which should be quite a bit given the condition of the vehicle, will go to help Curing Kids Cancer to help find cures for childhood cancers in the near future.
