A Shelby is a statement. It’s a piece of performance history that you’ve likely poured endless passion and money into.
So why, after all that work, would you hide it under a boring, blank cover? A company called HeroCovers is teaming up with Carroll Shelby Licensing to fix that problem with a wild new idea: a car cover that looks exactly like the car underneath. The concept is simple but brilliant. Owners send photos of their specific Shelby—and HeroCovers can replicate everything from the exact stripes and scoops to the side pipes and signature badges.
The designers then create a digital proof that looks like a photo-realistic skin of the car. Once the owner gives the thumbs-up, HeroCovers produces a 1-of-1, made-to-order cover that’s a perfect mirror image of the vehicle it’s made to protect.
This is not a knock-off product. HeroCovers worked directly with Carroll Shelby Licensing to make this happen, ensuring every detail is authentic. This official partnership is a big deal for owners, as it means the covers can authentically feature trademarked names like GT500KR® and Carroll Shelby Signature Edition®.
M. Neil Cummings, CEO of Carroll Shelby Licensing, noted that the idea fits the brand’s legacy, saying Carroll believed his gear should “perform and look great while doing it.” Cody Brdar, Co-Founder of HeroCovers, added that their goal is to give Shelby enthusiasts “something that matches the spirit of their build even when it’s at rest.”
The company even brought on well-known car guys like Bill Goldberg and Matt D’Andria of CarCast to advise on the launch. “People spend years building their dream Shelby,” said D’Andria. “This is the final touch.”
The new collection is comprehensive, with covers available for everything from classic Cobras and GT350s to modern Super Snake Mustangs and Shelby trucks. To fit different needs, the covers are available in three different materials: a sleek satin for the garage, a thick padded quilt for show-quality cars, and a weatherproof version for outdoor use.
It’s a clever idea for an owner who wants to protect their investment but still wants to see their pride and joy, even when it’s tucked away. The cover essentially turns a stored car into a full-scale art piece, which is a pretty cool final detail for any custom build.
