There’s nothing like the name “Super Bee” to pique your curiosity and get you motivated to check it out, and this ’69 Dodge Super Bee is a pretty good motivator. Over at Pro-Touring.com we saw this clean example of the kind of muscle car that not only gets your attention, but keeps it and leaves you asking for more.
Steve lives in North Royalton, Ohio, and says although he appreciates all muscle cars and hot rods, he’s always been a Mopar guy – and one look at his car shows why. There’s no denying that the classic lines of the B-body Mopars can still get your heart racing.
After being introduced to the pro-touring scene, thanks to long road trips like the Hot Rod Power Tour, Steve decided to upgrade his car for better drivability and comfort. It seems he’s already taken the first steps to participating on a power tour real soon, too. Proof of that is the Gear Vendors Overdrive he installed behind is TorqueFlite 727 transmission. That addition alone will sure help his wallet out on those long drives he plans on taking.
He’s installed a power disc brake conversion to make stopping less of a chore, and a set of Kumho tires wrapped around beautiful Forgeline wheels. His extended laundry list of things to do will keep getting longer, but his current project is to build a 440 big block to make this Bee buzz even faster.
So what are his plans for his car this year? Just ask Steve and he’ll tell you that he already has his sights set on the Hot Rod Power Tour this June, where they start off in the Motor City and spend a week cruise their way south to Arlington, Texas. If you participate, be sure to keep an eye out for Steve and his Super Bee.
