This past weekend Rod Authority made it out to Pleasanton, California to meet with our friends at Goodguys and to check out their 21st Summer Get-Together. This particular event boasts an eclectic mix of cars that you don’t regularly see at other Goodguys events.
Everything from late-model muscle cars to low riders with 20-inch wheels made it out to the Alameda Fairgrounds for a day of what we call automotive Shangri-La. “Over 2,500 All American show cars and classics came to Pleasanton last weekend to enjoy the perfect weather,” writes John Drummond, Communications Director at Goodguys Rod & Custom Association.
In an on-the-spot impromptu interview John asked us, “what is the first thing that comes to mind when you come to this event and see all these different eras of cars lined up next to one-another?” Rod Authority responded, “It reminds us all about why we’re here in the first place. There are lots of niches at car shows but events like this remind us of one of the most important things, that first and foremost we are all car lovers.”
Stay tuned for a full recap from the 21st Goodguys Summer Get-Together which will feature some closeup interviews with a few car owners, an exclusive photo gallery from the event, and a taste of the great variety of cars that made it out over the weekend.
Also, be sure to keep a look out for a car feature on Al Traille’s ’32 Roadster–a real work of continuity and design. With its purple/satin black two-tone paint scheme this roadster is a real looker that you won’t want to miss.
