NHRA Pro Stock competitor John Gaydosh went for a wild ride today while attempting to qualify for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, his second such incident of the year.
In the second of two sessions for the Pro Stock category after Friday’s activities were washed out, Gaydosh was trying to make his way into the field from his incoming spot in 23rd when his Pontiac GXP rattled the tires and drifted out of the groove. Gaydosh tried feverishly to reign it in, but took a hard right turn into the wall near half track, the resulting contact with the wall sending him back across the track as the former Justin Humphrey’s GXP spun one and a half times and tagged the left lane before coming to a rest.
Photographer Chuck Clark was in attendance in Norwalk and captured a sequence of the incident. Check out Clark’s website, sidejobphotos.com for the full sequence.
