Geno Clark of Tuscon, Arizona recently completed the build on his 1955 GMC pickup. According to Clark, this complete build took about nine months to complete. The beautiful ’55 is finished in a bright yellow hue, hot enough to almost burn your eyes on a sunny day.
Built with a Pro Street vibe, the mean ’55 is riding on a staple of that style – big ‘n little wheel and tire combination running old school Centerlines. Outside you’ll also find that most of the exterior chrome trim has been shaved as well. The bed is built with a custom reverse-tilt and is home to an old school dragster wing modified for the truck. The wheel tubs in the bed have also been enlarged to make room for those fat rear tires. Out back you’ll also find the requisite Pro Street wheelie bars.
Under the hood, power comes compliments a healthy big-block Chevy engine and the entire exhaust system was coated in Jet Hot’s Extreme 1300 Series polished coating. Clark says he uses the Jet Hot coating on both his race cars, and his daily drivers – noting that it holds up extremely well on both. Speaking of exhaust, the system includes long-tube headers and zoomies that exit just behind the cab.
Inside the truck has received plenty of customization as well. All of the gauges have been replaced and the interior now features bucket seats and a billet column.
Lately we have seen a bit of a comeback with the return of some Pro Street styling being mixed into new builds. We’ve seen several killer builds recently at shows nationwide showing off Pro Street builds of various types and forms. What do you think, is Pro Street set to make a comeback?
