In need of some much needed attention, this first-generation 1962 Oldsmobile Cutlass is complete and ready for a willing taker to bring it back from the dead. Spotted on Craigslist, this 1962 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85 is being sold for a steal.
The F-85, first introduced in 1961, was a compact series of Oldsmobile that features a 215 cubic-inch 3.5-liter V8 mill. The F-85 engine is an aluminum block, liquid-cooled V8 that features a two-barrel Rochester carb and mated to an automatic transmission.
The car has been sitting in a building for over 10 years, rotting away. The seller recommends both heads be rebuilt and reinstalled. However, there is much more that needs restoration. The seats are torn and flooring inside looks a bit wounded.
On the good side, the body is straight and all of its accessories and features outside are intact. The chrome on the bumpers look to be in pristine shape, and although its going to need a new paint job, rattle can primer will do just fine while the drivetrain is being handled.
The dash is in decent shape but the driver seats needs some repair.
If you’re looking for a nice project to keep yourself busy, look no further. This Cutlass can be a hot rod or street rod or even a lowrider. The possibilities are all fair game. Selling for just $2,750, this isn’t a bad project car to keep busy in the garage. It may not be the even rarer Jetfire model, which was turbocharged, but way ahead of its time, but it still has worth.
