It’s not everyday that you run across a rare muscle car, but a car being sold on RacingJunk.com has proven it is still possible to find such a gem. According to our friends at Bangshift.com, a 1968 Plymouth GTX is up for grabs. The GTX being offered is very rare, sporting a factory HEMI engine and four-speed transmission.
In 1968, only 200 Plymouth GTXs were offered with a HEMI engine and four-speed standard transmission. These rare cars were originally created to deliver the mail in. These cars are known for pulling 12s in the quarter mile. The current owner of the vehicle is advertising the car as pushing over 500 horsepower.
Although it is unclear if the HEMI that is in the car is the original, many parts, including the carburetors and driveline parts, have the correct date codes and manufacturer details on them.
The owner does state that the rear end is original to the car. While the extreme power of this car is impressive, it is also interested that the car has been put back to its correct condition. This is sure to thrill many Mopar restoration fans. This restored rarity can be yours for the asking price of $75,000.
