Rare Barn Finds & Hidden Gems at 2025 MCACN Show

Most car shows are all about shiny paint and perfect chrome. Not the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals. The 2025 MCACN show flips that script. This November, the crowds won’t just be flocking to the restored gems and rarities; they’ll be heading to the back corner of the convention center to see cars that look like they were just dragged out of a barn or field.

The Mopar lineup is heavy this year. Roger Schmeling is bringing a 1968 Plymouth Satellite convertible that’s been hiding for decades. It’s rough, and it’s making its first public outing in ages. Then there’s the 1969 Plymouth GTX rescued by Keith Noel. This thing has been off the road since the late ’70s.

The team plans to get it running mechanically, but for the show, it’s staying exactly as they found it — dirt and all. Perhaps the weirdest one is the 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury GT. Most people associate the 440 Six-Barrel engine with muscle cars, not massive C-body land yachts. Tom Hergert dug this one out, and it’s incredibly rare. It’s a survivor that shows just how wild the option sheets were back in 1970.

Chevy fans have a reason to show up, too. There’s a 1970 Chevelle SS coming in from Arizona that goes by “Sunkist.” It’s not just a cool name; it’s a real-deal LS6 454 car painted in special-order Hugger Orange. Finding an LS6 is hard enough, but finding one in a color usually reserved for Camaros is next-level. It will be sitting in the 2025 MCACN show exactly as it was discovered.

The “Barn Finds and Hidden Gems” area is always a crowd favorite because it’s real. It’s the history of these cars before the six-figure restorations wipe away the stories. It proves that the “I’m gonna restore it someday” guys actually do let go sometimes.

If you want to see these rusty relics before they get shiny, head to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois, on November 22 and 23. This year’s 2025 MCACN show is shaping up to be a good one for anyone who loves a car with a little patina.
