Retro Chrysler Dealership Revived at Carlisle

A huge gathering of the Chrysler faithful takes place early in July every year at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, in Carlisle, PA. The event is nothing less than a three-day sensory overload for Doge, Plymouth, Chrysler and Mopar enthusiasts.

With more than 2,100 cars on site and events throughout the weekend, there is more than enough going on to occupy any mortal car lover. Special displays abound across the Carlisle Fairgrounds and a special one this year could be found at Beeney Motors.

Show organizers recreated a 1971 Chrysler dealership for an even more immersive experience than any show field could provide. Complete with period correct showroom materials and promotional videos, Beeney Motors offered a trip back in time to the era of the Dodge Demon and Plymouth Duster.

Not all may remember those cars fondly, but when packing a 340-cubic-inch four-barrel V-8 under the hood, they could carry their own on the streets and at the track. Starting from $2,721 Mopar performance was readily available to most enthusiasts.

But, the new Demon didn’t have a lock on performance and Beeney Motors was showing the full line of cars with go-power. Showroom quality versions of the B-bod and E-body cars were on display, invited specially for the show. Too bad about the whole inflation thing. We’d drop $2,700-odd dollars on a new, showroom condition 340 Demon any day.
