The Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational is held each year in the week following SEMA. Competitors from across the country battle it out in a litany of tests designed to push their cars to the limits. It’s quite an honor to qualify and be invited to his event as well, as only a select few each year are allowed to complete.
We’ve talked about Ridetech‘s ’33 Hot Rod numerous times here in the past. In fact just a few weeks ago we brought you a story about the car’s clutch upgrade. Owner Brett Voelkel was on hand with the car at this year’s OUSCI. One big component of the event is the Wilwood Speed Stop challenge. This year the event was changed a bit to include a hairpin turn and decreasing slalom just before competitors had to hit the brakes. Voelkel is an avid autocross driver and has setup his ’33 to handle around the curves. Voelkel handily aced the course with the help of his car’s Baer Brakes Pro+ brake system helping him pull in the reigns on his hot rod, he completed the course in just 18.352 seconds.
Congratulations to Brett Voelkel, Ridetech and Baer brakes for putting up an outstanding performance and all the competitors at this year’s Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
