At the base of the build is a classic ’51 Ford frame fitted with a full Chevrolet S10 pickup front and rear suspension system. Front power discs and rear drums provide the modernized chassis with plenty of stopping power, while 15-inch steelie wheels wrapped in wide whitewall tires and capped with Cadillac emblazoned chrome covers plant the convertible firmly to the ground.
Under the hood is another unique surprise–a well-dressed GM 305ci engine. A welcome change from the typical 350ci SBC used in many street rods these days, this 305ci provides the convertible with a respectable 250 horsepower.
Painted to match the body color, the engine offers plenty of pizzazz to match the car’s overall appeal with chrome valve covers and a chrome air filter. Look a bit closer and you’ll see these pieces are also detailed in body colored striping. One more look and you’ll catch a glimpse of the car’s original cowl tag with the convertible’s clear 1951 serial number.
A large radiator and electric fan were both added to the front of the engine bay to keep the GM V8 cool, while cast iron headers push the engine’s spent fuel through to a dual exhaust system.
Backing the engine is a smooth-shifting TH350 three-speed automatic transmission.
While this car is certainly about improved performance, it also has an undeniable aesthetic value no street rodder can deny.
Topping the build is a perfectly massaged body covered in a sleek Bronze paint scheme borrowed from the popular Corvette line. Massive front and rear bumpers dressed in brand new chrome give the car even more of a pop, along with a freshly chromed grille, glass trim, and body side moldings.
Of course, we can’t forget about the car’s fresh white top which is as crisp as the day it was installed. Hidden push-button door releases add an air of sleekness expected from a high-end build this exquisite.
Inside, the Ford’s luxurious white leather interior is as inviting as it is stylish. Adjustable bucket seats up front give the car’s driver and passenger bolstered comfort and support while a matching rear bench provides extra passenger seating with classic styling. Even the trunk is done in white leather with a custom Ford V8 logo laid right in the upholstery.
