We’re going to give you a little advice. As soon as you finish this article grab a cup of coffee, a bowl of Cap’N Crunch, and then dedicate an hour to reading roadrace55chevy.com top to bottom. There you’ll find one of the most incredible ’55 Chevy builds that we’ve ever seen and it all starts with a person that had finished a GT40 replica, then decided he wanted to build an equivalent ’55 Chevy.
He had a custom chassis fabricated, added his own “standard” ’55 Chevy roll cage, and then moved on from there by adding on the fiberglass and a chopped ’55 Chevy body. It features a very stout dry sump 350 backed by a 5-speed.
The motor is fed by no less than three fuel tanks, one of which is in the rear and the other two of which are mounted under the seats. This was done for fuel pressure reasons, but we assume ballast is another fringe benefit. The front suspension features tubular A-arms and coil overs but out back it gets exotic with a Corvette style IRS. The brakes are all AP Racing units. It even has air jacks!
If that isn’t enough for you, this ride is for sale. The owner estimates he has over $100K into the build now, but the price for you? A mere $25,000. Get your checkbook.
