Rocket Racing's Indy Roadster Wheels

Rocket Racing Wheels continues to bring their customers a nostalgic look with all the features and safety of modern wheels. What’s cool about them is they feature the common 5-lug pattern that fits modern spindles and brakes, but are cast to look like old Indy car wheels.They are meant for open wheel racers and hot rods and are perfect for your period-correct restoration. With multiple sizes, bolt patterns and finishes available, it makes us wonder how they would look on a different body style, as well.

Fire up your engines! The Indy Roadsters of the 50s and 60s dominated the track with 6 pin drive magnesium wheels. The lighter weight six-pin replaced the outdated wire-laced wheels of the 1920’s and became as much of an icon as the Offy engine. Introducing the latest addition to the Rocket Racing Wheels arsenal, the Rocket Fire. Taking it’s styling cues from the original Indy Roadster wheels, the Rocket Fire features the same classic ribbed design front and smooth on reverse side. The Rocket Fire is constructed of durable high-tech aluminum and served up at an incredible price point. Originally, the six-pin wheels were held on by a pressure plate and knockoff. The Rocket Fire re-creates the appearance of a six-pin pressure plate and knockoff attachment but with the safety and security of a 5-lug bolt on.

The Rocket Fire will be available in 16×5 in multiple finishes: Gray Painted Center with Machined Rib and Outer, and Full As Cast finish. Our exclusive, custom RPM7 powder coat can also be applied to reproduce the classic, magnesium DOW7 finish of the 1960’s. Mix and Match the Rocket Fire (Ribbed Style) and Solid Rocket (Smooth Style) with tall, skinny vintage tires to your traditional hot rod or open wheel roadster, and you’ve got the ultimate Indy look! The 16×5 size is versatile, as it fits most ALL 16″ diameter Vintage Tire sizes from the short, skinny 500-16 up to the tall 825-16. The Rocket Fire will be available in 5×4.50, 5×4.75 and 5×5.50 bolt patterns. Each Rocket Fire wheel is precision-crafted from A356 aluminum. The Rocket Fire is a 5-Lug Bolt-on wheel that utilize conical seat open end lugs. To complete the Indy look, choose from our optional Gray or Polished Lug Cover with Vintage 3-bar Knockoff s to our new Rocket Bullet Center Caps and Vintage Dome Caps. The Rocket Fire wheels are expected to hit Rocket Racing Wheels warehouses Spring of 2014.
