Since opening the doors in the summer of 2004, PRW has focused on product quality and fine-tuning their manufacturing processes. With steady additions to their product line, PRW is becoming increasingly well known in the automotive circles as manufacturers of quality engine parts.
Jerid Suchy explained about PRW’s newest product, a high performance aluminum water pump for GM LS engines. “Our high-flow aluminum water pumps are engineered to deliver increased water flow to significantly improve cooling for all street, high performance and racing applications.”
Benefits/Characteristics
• Aircraft industry tolerances
• 0.750” diameter steel shafts
• Reliable cast iron CNC machined impellers
• Pressure injected aluminum alloy pump bodies
• Billet steel hubs and shielded-seal roller ball bearings
• Back plate “O” ring sealed for most applications
• SBC applications include adjustable hardware
According to Scuhy, “The cast iron impeller has very tight clearances and provides increased coolant flow, better block pressure and a balanced delivery. The precision cast-iron impeller is housed in a low pressure injected aluminum alloy pump body, a combination that helps minimize engine hot spots at any speed.”
Suchy says, “Equalized water flow distribution and pressure balanced water passages minimize internal engine hot-spots making these pumps an excellent alternative for not only racers, but also trucks, towing, and motorhome applications,” adding, “Cruisers and hot rodders will appreciate the improved cooling at low speeds and the availability of polished aluminum water pump bodies for nearly every application.”
Suchy also pointed out the “truck-style” neck on the high-flow aluminum pump. “This really gives the builder a lot of flexibility when he is plumbing the cooling system,” he says.
