The Nissan 350Z has rapidly become the go-to platform for drift and track builds, essentially taking the torch from the S-chassis. It’s rigid, relatively affordable, and swallows a V8 if you have the right mount kit. However, getting an LS to sit happily in the Z33 engine bay often involves a fight with clearance, particularly around the crossmember and steering rack. At SEMA 2025, Canton Racing Products rolled out a solution that makes that relationship a lot less toxic: their new 350Z LS swap oil pan.

This isn’t a generic “fits-all” pan that requires a hammer to install. It features a front-sump configuration that clears the Z33 architecture specifically while maximizing oil capacity and control. We spoke with Christian Goncalves, an engineer at Canton, who gave us the backstory. Interestingly, this wasn’t originally planned for their public catalog. “It was more of a private label piece for another company, and people kept reaching out asking about something similar,” he said. The demand from the grassroots level forced their hand, and now it is a standard part number available to everyone.

For builders, the real value here is what’s going on inside the aluminum skin. Drifting and road racing put violent lateral forces on a car, which can slosh oil away from the pickup tube in a standard pan, leading to catastrophic bearing failure. Canton combats this with a diamond-shaped internal baffle system and four trap doors that physically trap oil around the pickup. It also features a removable anti-slosh baffle and is designed to work seamlessly with the OEM GM windage tray. With a system capacity of 6.5 quarts, it offers a nice bump in volume over a shallow stock pan without hanging too low.

They also thought about the “while I’m at it” mods. If you are planning to boost your LS, the pan already has a 3/8-inch NPT bung for a turbo oil return, saving you from having to tap or weld one in later. It also retains the factory oil level sensor provision and offers dipstick mounting options on either side of the block. It’s a smart, purpose-built piece of kit. Tired of wrestling with clearance issues or worrying about oil starvation mid-drift? This 350Z LS swap oil pan provides the insurance policy your bearing clearances need.
