Bear Metal Kustoms is a full-service kustom shop in the city of Morro Bay, California. According to its website, the shop handles, “everything from full and partial builds, to smaller piece work. We’ve built cars for customers that were from out of state, and even out of the country.”
You can find a full list of shop services on the homepage as well which showcases a nice breakdown of custom jobs. The following are some of those services: motor and trans swap, body modification, louvre punching, chopping, custom paint matching, dimple dies, custom fabrication, custom chassis work, axle dropping, brake swap/upgrade, and bead rolling. Bear Metal Kustoms is a one-stop kustom shop with experience under its belt.
With over 24 completed project cars and 15 in progress the crew at BMK are definitely putting in some serious work. One of their past projects, a ’31 Ford Roadster took home 1st place during its debut at the 2011 Long Beach Motorama held annually as part of the Ink-N-Iron tattoo and kustom kulture festival.
One amazing project that BMK currently has in progress is a ’54 Mercury roadster dubbed “Memories.” It is a build that is dedicated to Rich Pichette who is “responsible for conceiving a show to celebrate kustoms and their builders, West Coast Kustoms Cruisin’ Nationals, formerly known as ‘Paso.’”
This shop is downright dedicated to the preservation of kustom kulture and their portfolio of work speaks for itself. Be sure to check them out on their homepage to learn more about the shop.
