By now, most of us have all got smartphones that tell us everything we want to know (and some stuff we don’t). We’ve got all the requisite apps that friends and family have recommended, from Facebook to GasBuddy to Netflix. But we here at Rod Authority are here to tell you that you should make space for one more app: ShowFinder.

We first came across this surprise by browsing through Reddit.com, a social news website that hosts all sorts of interests and cultures through its niche blogs, which are called “subreddits.” One subreddit, /r/hotrod, is exactly what you might be thinking: an online place for hot rodders of all stripes to congregate, share pictures of their rides, swap stories, or, in the case of user thesquadphil, show off what’s next for the kustom scene.

Thesquadphil made a post back in January touting his new app, ShowFinder, and linked viewers to its website to invite free downloads of the app. Available for all major popular smart devices, we decided to give it a shot using an Android-based LG G3 and see what happened.

After a somewhat lengthy span of time waiting for the GPS to dial down where we were on planet Earth, ShowFinder performed exactly as advertised. In seconds, we were able to surf through thousands upon thousands of shows, which we could narrow down by such criteria as date, type of show, and location. Swap meets, poker runs, cruises, and more were all right there at our fingertips.

If you want to add your own event to ShowFinder, you can do it through the app’s built-in submission form.

Event information was able to tell us instantly the descriptions, dates and times, and even the admission prices. Contact information could be found under “Host Info” too, listing phone numbers and websites we could look into.

All in all, ShowFinder is a very solid app that’s worth the paltry 1.73 megabytes it takes up on the hard drive. We highly recommend you download it now, and rest assured it’s only going to get better as time goes on.
