The upcoming Need For Speed movie has been generating a strong buzz around the internet. Surprisingly, there has been little buzz about the cars that are going to be the film. If this movie is anything like NFS Most Wanted (2005), NFS Carbon, Pro Street and a few of the other classic title’s, then musclecars, exotics, and tuners will all get a fair representation. A recipe for making all types of gearheads happy.
While doing recon on the film, we’ve discovered that several classic musclecars are going to appear in the film. These include a gray first generation Camaro, an LSX powered 1966 Pontiac GTO, a Chevy Chevelle and one of our favorites: the highly underrated Ford Torino GT Cobra Fastback.
These musclecars will be doing what they were born to do: tear up the streets. They are going to be drag racing through tunnels, weaving through traffic at 125 MPH and outrunning the police on city streets. The movie will be using all of the above mentioned cars for stunt work over CGI for an authentic American muscle experience.
Jesse Pinkman- we mean Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame – will star as Tobey, a street racer framed for a crime he did not commit (selling meth, killing Gale?). Ford fans will be happy to know that he is leaving his Toyota Tercel behind to drive a silver late model Mustang.
We’re sure many long-time Need For Speed fans would love to see musclecars such as Razor’s Black 2005 Mustang, Rog’s 2004 Pontiac GTO or Sgt. Cross Corvette make cameo appearances in the movie.
