It would seem that the Pro Touring movement knows no bounds, as now it’s moved well beyond the realm of ’69 Camaros and into everything from AMC’s to the boxy little ’64 Olds F-85 that you see here. We spotted the initial build thread of it over on Pro-Touring.com, and this is a buildup just at the point where we like it best; the beginning!
The owner stated that he purchased the Olds on eBay only to find out that it would need floors immediately before becoming a driver.
He already owns a sweet 500HP ’67 4-4-2, but the restoration bug has bitten him to the point where he’s planning to sell it to finance this ’64. We understand. It happens to the best of us.
The question on the table now is, which direction to go? Since this car rides on an A-Body frame like it’s Chevelle and GTO brothers, the suspension, brake, engine, transmission, and wheel options are plentiful with a capital P.
The more common route would be to put it on air bags or coil overs and drop an LS mill into it backed by a 6-speed, but to be honest we hope it stays with Olds power and dog dish hubcaps.
