Since 2002, the American Hot Rod Foundation (AHRF) of Connecticut has helped preserve, promote, and celebrate the history of hot rodding. While founders, husband and wife team Steve and Carol Memishian, and Steve’s brother John Memishian have formally been in action for over a decade, they continue to offer their “dream book” with confidence and joy! Check out what makes this book so special below!
The book is called “The Great American Hot Rod Explained” and it’s authored by lifetime hot rodder and skilled car builder Michael deLesseps–a talented storyteller, artist, and diehard hot rodder at heart, deLesseps paints the hot rod story like no other with his words and over 60 watercolor pictures and diagrams.
Originally written to attract young people to the hot rod hobby, “The Great American Hot Rod Explained” is said to be an easy but entertaining read for children, teens, and adults alike who are interested in the hot rod life. From the history to the technology this beautifully illustrated book provides some great information.
From just curious to true diehard hot rodder, this 2012 book from the AHRF is intended for everyone to enjoy and in a gorgeous hard-cover, full color package, it would be hard not to get a thrill out of this publication. Truthfully, we don’t know why this book isn’t on every hot rodder’s book shelf already.
“The Great American Hot Rod Explained” is available through the AHRF on their website under Books & DVDs. There, you can also find other books and productions put together by the AHRF, like documentaries DUECE and Slingshot!, as well as a hot rodder’s book favorite “Hot Rod Roots”, for your viewing pleasure.
