In today’s news, a New Jersey Jury has just sentence this 1969 GTO Judge to death after 30 years of trials. NJTurbo has been trying to purchase this Pontiac since the early 1980’s, however he has had no luck.
The owner, for no apparent reason, has decided to punish this GTO by leaving it to suffer in the humid New Jersey summers and cold Jersey winters for the last 3 decades.
This GTO is an orange RAM Air II 4-speed car similar to the famous GTO from the 1971 movie Two Lane Blacktop. However, this GTO is closer to the carousel red 1969 GTO from the Are You Afraid of The Dark Episode “The Tale of Highway 13” which some of you younger rodders may remember. This episode featured two teenagers fixing the aforementioned GTO Judge which they found rotting in a junkyard.
Underneath her hood is a Pontiac 400 which may still have a little piston pumping life left. When she left the assembly line, the 400 put out 366 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. Hopefully there is still time for the jury to overturn this death sentence and perhaps NJTurbo can put her back on the road. It would be a real tragedy to let a sweet ride like this die a slow and agonizing death.
