Let’s face it; sequels are usually doomed to fail. It’s a common occurrence in plays, books, and more often than not, films, that the second or third helping of something is just not as good as the original.

Evidently, no one told the participants of the Midwest Muscle Car Challenge (MWMCC) of this hard fact, as 2012 marks the third consecutive year that the event is being held. The only explanation for a second sequel to the event must be the apparent desire for wanting more.

Late model examples are just as welcome as the classics at the MWMCC.

So yet again comes the Midwest Muscle Car Challenge, and for 2012 they’ve even picked up Bowler Transmissions as a sponsor for the three day automotive extravaganza. According to the MWMCC website, the added benefit of this is so the event can become a part of the American Street Car Series (ASCS), making it easier to manage.

Like the previous two years, the MWMCC will be held during the weekend of May 25-27th at the Mid-American Air Center in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and will include an autocross, car show, cruise in, a speed stop challenge, and a road course competition.

The best part of the MWMCC is that it gives owners of muscle cars (both old and new), a place to let loose in a controlled environment without the worry of having to get a ticket from the local constabulary. You won’t get any complaints from us about that one.

You can learn more about the different classes, rules, and regulations along with the exact dates for each competition by going on the MWMCC website, but you need to hurry –the host Holiday Inn hotel in nearby Vincennes, Illinois is quickly becoming booked for that weekend.
