Imagine the horror of returning home to find your classic cars missing and your entire home trashed. This unfortunate event took place at the home of Gary King in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. News9 in Oklahoma City interviewed King about his loss and toured the damage caused by the thieves.
According to News9, King stated that he along with his wife had been out of town; King suspected that the thieves made multiple trips to his home or there were a large number of them during the theft. A 1963 Ford Thunderbird Convertible was taken from King’s garage as well as a 1955 GMC first series truck.
During the interview King stated that the ’63 Thunderbird is Roadster, but regardless of the particularities of the Thunderbird, it is heartbreaking for the owner to lose something that was obviously treasured.
Thieves forced open the garage to gain access to the Thunderbird and the GMC. This first series ’55 pickup featured a beautiful paint job and careful restorations. Hopefully someone has video footage or tips that may lead to the suspect or suspects in this case. Based on the information in the News9 story, King’s estimated losses top $100,000. Fortunately, a pink Packard and another vintage ride survived the robbery.
