When you think of a station wagon called a “Country Squire”, sometimes it brings back memories of mid-afternoons at the local park, a plaid blanket laid out with a wicker picnic basket full of egg salad sandwiches and pumpernickel bread. But over at Pro-Touring.com we find that’s not the case with Jimmy’s ’63 Ford Galaxie Country Squire. It’s not only out of this world, but it will soon be out of his garage if he can find a buyer because, as Jimmy says, he has too many toys. Don’t you just hate when that happens?
Most people aren’t fans of the four-door variety muscle car, but this one exception to that rule. The two extra doors shouldn’t detract from the fact that this is one cool looking car. This li’l red wagon is powered by a rebuilt 390 with a mild cam, and dual quad carbs on top of an Edelbrock intake providing about 300 horsepower to get to whatever park you want to go to. But like most wagons, this one is also equipped with such creature comforts as power steering and under-dash air conditioning.
If you think the shaker scoop looks vaguely familiar, then you have a sharp eye! It was originally shaking things up on a Torino GT, but looks right at home on the Galaxie. With 18″ chrome Cragar wheels, tinted windows and new carpeting, it’s not a bad toy to have, even if you do have too many others.
So if you’re in the Dayton, Ohio, area and you really could use one more toy, head on over to the Pro-Touring.com forum and check out this Galaxie Wagon. And keep reminding yourself that you can never have enough toys, no matter what anyone says.
