When you say “hot rod,” chances are that you are referring to a modified car from the 1930s and 40s, but there are people in this world who think the term hot rod means something completely different. At least that’s the case with the latest “hot rod” ad we found circulating on the Nashville area Craig’s List.
While we’ve see some pretty funny ads from this free classifieds site and eBay before, nothing could have prepared us for the shock and resulting laughter we got when we opened up what has to be one of the funniest hot rod ad listings ever to exist.
The title of the ad reads “Hot Rod- $2,200,” which peaked our interest immediately. In the days of a gallon of gasoline costing $4 and complete rust-buckets selling for $15,000, who wouldn’t be interested in a hot rod for that cheap, right? Well, unfortunately our hopes of finding a classic were immediately shattered when we opened the link to find a supped up ‘84 Oldsmobile Cutlass station wagon.
So how does that classify as a “hot rod?” Well, we aren’t quite sure but it does have side pipes, a tunnel ram sticking out of the hood and air shocks. The “hot rod wagon” also supposedly comes with a large tow hitch, traction bars and even a Hot Wheels sticker on the back window! You know what they say about stickers adding power…
