Walking the aisles of Las Vegas during the TMI Products 5th Annual 2026 TRIM Awards proves that great builds require far more than shiny paint and a big-block V8. Plenty of garage fabricators spend months dialing in suspension geometry and engine bay plumbing while leaving the cabin as an afterthought.

To spotlight the upholsterers and designers who sweat the stitchwork inside the doors, the Corona, California, interior manufacturer brings its design competition back to the SEMA Show floor. On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. PST, crowds will gather inside Central Hall at booth 24477 to watch the trophy ceremony.

Six industry veterans — Kevin Oeste, Sean Holman, Sara Morosan, Theresa Contreras, Marcel Venable, and Jason Mulligan — will inspect the registered SEMA builds across 10 categories. While several classes require TMI seats or full cabin packages, open divisions welcome any custom car, truck, SUV, or wagon at the convention center. Even the past four Best Of Show Champions ran interiors from other brands, proving the judges care about stitch quality and color matching over logos. Explaining that open-door approach, TMI Products Marketing Director Ross Berlanga states, “The TRIM Awards are about recognizing exceptional interiors, regardless of brand.”

Winning a trophy during the TMI Products fifth Annual 2026 TRIM Awards brings serious perks beyond a custom Mothers Polish detail bag and gift certificates. Every category winner earns automatic consideration for the Barrett-Jackson Cup at WestWorld of Scottsdale from January 23-31, 2027. Looking back at how the contest has grown, Berlanga notes, “The creativity, innovation, and attention to detail showcased by today’s builders continues to raise the bar, and we’re excited to honor the individuals and teams whose work inspires the entire automotive community.”

Anyone who has ever wrestled hog rings onto a seat frame or tried laying carpet flat over a transmission tunnel knows how quickly bad upholstery ruins a custom rig. Watching top trim shops get their due at the TMI Products fifth Annual 2026 TRIM Awards reminds every car builder that the driver seat deserves just as much respect as the engine bay.
