TMI Products, a prominent name in custom automotive interiors, will participate in the Barrett-Jackson Cup for a third consecutive year. The company announced six TRIM Award winners will attend the Scottsdale, Arizona, auction from Jan. 18-26. This event marks TMI Products’ first auction appearance of the year.
The Barrett-Jackson Cup, established in 2013 through a partnership with Castrol, showcases exceptional restomod vehicles and builders. Hundreds of vehicles enter the competition.
Barrett-Jackson selects the top 50 for display and auction. Judges Bobby Alloway and Troy Trepanier then choose the top five. The competition provides a platform for recognizing superior craftsmanship in vehicle modification.
Six vehicles, recognized at the SEMA Show with TMI TRIM Awards, will join the 50 vehicles selected by Barrett-Jackson. These vehicles represent a range of styles and build approaches.
Tony Arme’s 1959 Chrysler 300e (owned by Randy Kohltfarber) earned the TRIM Award for Most Creative Interior. Randy Wilcox’s 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass received the award for Best Custom Car Interior. Brian Myers’ 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle won Best TMI Interior.
The 1953 Chevrolet 3100 from Kustom Built Cars, overseen by Bodhi Ellzey, secured the Best Truck award. David Price’s 2005 McLaren SLR HDK received the Fan Favorite award.
Steve Aguilar’s 1967 Pontiac “Twisted GTO,” the 2023 TRIM Award Champion, also will be present. The presence of these award-winning vehicles adds to the event’s prestige. The auction provides a venue for enthusiasts and collectors to appreciate custom automotive work.
On Saturday, Jan. 18, the selected vehicles will be on display in the auction arena. A parade across the stage, the Barrett-Jackson Cup Parade Presented by Castrol, will follow. The parade will be livestreamed on Barrett-Jackson’s YouTube channel from 3-5 p.m. local time.
This livestream offers TMI Products’ fans a chance to view the six TRIM Award-winning vehicles from the SEMA Show. The public can view the vehicles in a special area for the “People’s Choice” vote, which uses social media.
Each weekday during the auction’s first week, Barrett-Jackson will reveal one of the Top Five finalists. The company will announce the overall winner and the People’s Choice award recipient from the auction block on Saturday, Jan. 25.
The overall winner will receive the Barrett-Jackson Cup and the title of “Ultimate Best in Show,” along with other prizes. The event offers significant recognition for automotive builders.
