32. Once Upon A Time: 1973 Ford F-Series

In ABC’s television series, “Once Upon A Time,” nothing is impossible in the make-believe land of Storybrooke. All you need is a bit of wizardry, magic, and pixie dust. Since the characters in the series are derived from folklore and fairytales, the rides are naturally just as eclectic – and have been carefully matched to the personalities they are believed to have in modern times.

The series, which started in 2011 and is still going strong, features many makes and models. For our countdown, David’s (aka Prince Charming) trusty steed of is not one with four legs and a flying mane and tail, but rather a plain-Jane 1973 Ford F-Series workhorse.

Used as a mode of transport through the one-stoplight town, it rarely crosses the imaginary line into reality where fairytales and its characters cease to exist – a land where all magic is rendered inconceivable. In fact, only a few vehicles have ever left Storybrooke, and somehow made it back home in one piece.

The F-Series has been used in various plots in a truck-versus-horse joust, to pull fellow characters from an underworld abyss or portal, clear debris from the dirt roads and Enchanted Forest, chase after trouble, and to carry Mary Margaret (Snow White) and Emma Swan (The Savior) away from peril or to save others.

Oh, and it was used to fight the wicked Maleficent dragon in a season four episode. If that’s not Ford tough, we don’t know what is!
