If your idea of hot rodding leans toward the traditional and less to the high-end, then a trip to one of the Billetproof events might be just what you’ve been looking for. The most recent show was held on September 15, 2012 in Antioch, California and event photos were made available for us to enjoy by our friends and hot rod aficionados at Legendary Speed. Their extensive photo album of the event can be seen in its entirety on their Facebook page.
From all the visual evidence we’ve seen the event was very well attended and a big success overall. Rods, customs and classics of every configuration attended and there was something there that any proper car culture enthusiast could appreciate.
Billetproof which calls itself the world’s least important car shows began in 1997. The shows were created from the notion that the hot rod world was moving too far away from its do-it-yourself roots. There needed to be venues for enthusiasts that celebrated rather than looked down upon the unfinished, perpetual projects as well as those committed to their preference for old school parts and methods. And who would have thunk it?! They were right, as these events continue to flourish around the country. So if you’re looking for a change of pace, be sure to check out the nearest Billetproof show near you.
