After revealing the new 2019 Chevy Silverado to the world, GM has taken a jab at Ford with their new Silverado HD. To prove a point about their trucks, they setup a drag race between the two, and it’s a little awkward to watch.

The Silverado being put up is a 3500 HD dually, and Duramax engine — its competition comes in the form of a a Ford Super Duty, or that’s how General Motors describes the truck in the video, leaving out any information about the Ford’s drivetrain configuration.

With that in mind, the Ford competitor is probably packing a 6.2L flex-fuel 2V engine and 2×4 configuration. We’re not saying that’s the absolute truth, but it just seems likely to be so since they intentionally omitted the information. The Power Stroke turbo diesel is what you’d hope would be in the Ford, but it’s unlikely the case. Keep in mind, Ford’s 6.7L Power Stroke V8 engine makes 450-horsepower and 935 lbs-ft of torque.

Ford says it’s the best in class, which is correct, but not by a considerable margin. The L5 Duramax V8 makes 445-horsepower and 910 lbs-ft of torque, so Ford isn’t setting the sky on fire or anything. But back to these cheaters…

While we do agree that the Silverado looks great, and it’s got a sporty little hood scoop, this whole video is a mess. The only thing worse than the fact that we’re pretty sure Chevy is racing unmatched trucks, is the over-the-top awkward dialog and robotic trash talking. Can you guess which truck wins this Chevrolet posted race? We know you’ll be shocked by the results.
