Rod Authority recently got a chance to touch base with the folks from United Pacific during this year’s SEMA Show. They certainly have a lot of great things going for them to usher in the new year. Definitely the highlight as of late has been the recent Ford licensing of United Pacific’s all-steel reproductions of the 1932 Ford 5-Window Coupe body. All throughout SEMA’s showroom floor companies who had teamed up and utilized the steel bodies exhibited beautiful cars for spectators to admire.
Even more recently, United Pacific finished the transition from their old site in Carson, CA into their new global headquarters located in Long Beach, CA. Paul Lin, chief financial officer for United Pacific recently spoke with the Long Beach Business Journal shedding a little incite onto the move, “The high end corporate image of Douglas Park…close proximity to the ports…and location, we have employees in both L.A. and Orange Counties, Long Beach is in the middle…were some of the reasons for the move.”
United Pacific’s New HQ At A Glance
The site touts over 132,000 square feet of space for an ever expanding need to meet the demands of cliental across the globe. The biggest feature of United Pacific’s new home is the environmental consciousness that they kept in mind while balancing a growing large scale operation – there was a 100% reduction in potable water used for landscaping, a 40% reduction in total energy use due to the implementation of high-efficiency mechanical and lighting systems, and on top of that 82% of construction waste was diverted from land fills.
Some of the major environmental accomplishments and efforts to promote an environmentally friendly workplace include a laundry list of perks and amenities for things such as preferred parking for low-emissions, fuel efficient, and carpool vehicles, plumbing systems that utilize reclaimed water, and landscaping that features drought tolerant vegetation as well as high-efficiency irrigation systems.
While on one end these are features that will obviously cut the cost and expenses that United Pacific incurs to maintain and keep their business running it’s nice to know that while companies get to enjoy the fruits of years of hard work there are still alternatives offered that allow them to expand while minimizing their ecological and environmental footprint. Rod Authority wishes to congratulate United Pacific on their move and the best of luck in their ventures during the new year and onward.
