RDP Motorsport is known for building, tuning, and racing some of the fastest and quickest late model muscle cars. Dynosteve, RDP’s owner, moved to the US from Australia a few years back resulting in a reputation that spans continents. Depending on the day and the forum you are browsing, people are either singing his praises or shouting for his demise. “In Australia we call it Tall Poppy syndrome. That’s where someone thinks they are better than anyone else,” Steve says of the naysayers.

One thing is clear, Dynosteve has figured out how to keep his company’s name in everyone’s mouth and on the computer screen of thousands. In addition to the multiple forums that contain threads that span several years and 20-30 pages, RDP Motorsport also has a Facebook page that is just shy of 81,000 fans and a YouTube channel with 332 videos and just over 1,900 subscribers. He constantly posts photos and videos for his supporters to enjoy and haters to pick apart.

This video in particular has seen upwards of 30,000 views and the starring vehicle has had just about as many changes since RDP first built it back in late 2008. The 2009 Dodge Challenger was originally built to showcase the engineering capabilities of RDP for the annual PRI show, and at that time sported a twin supercharger set up. Shortly thereafter, the car was torn down and fitted with a single supercharger, which was piloted into a 9 second drag pass.

After growing tired of breaking supercharger belts, Steve decided it was time for a little bit of boost—and by a little bit, we mean a custom fabbed twin turbo system running a pair of T61 Turbonetics Turbo Chargers. The current twin-turbo set up was the first to crack the 1000hp mark on the dyno, and it’s first time out at the track took the record for the fastest and quickest late model Challenger on a full street trim set up. RDP touts that their claim to fame is going fast in streetable rides. “That’s just what we are known for,” Dynosteve explains.

So, while this 1000hp beast smokes tires on the dyno, it also maintains decent gas mileage on the streets while Gillian, Steve’s wife, daily drives it to and from work—and occasionally to the grocery store. “I just make sure I park it way in the back of the parking lot because the paint job is really nice,” she giggles.
