We’ve seen them before and we’ll probably see them again for good reasons. Videos depicting bouts of aviation and automobile are definitely something that catches our attention, especially when top tier cars are going up against fighter jets. When we think of this type of thing, we day dream back to the days of Jeremy Clarkson being chased around by an Apache helicopter while tooling about in a Lotus Exige.
In this real life Top Gear scenario, Viper Club of America put on a little demonstration of Viper vs Viper, if you will. Their minds concocted a battle between SRT10 Viper and F16 Viper fighter jet. When it comes to drag racing, it simply doesn’t get much more creative than this.
On one hand you have the Viper club’s National Secretary, John Canal behind the wheel of the monsterous SRT supercar. Right next to him is a trained military pilot, Capt. “Chunk” Moffett ready for takeoff in his fighter jet. We’re inclined to say that this has the making of the race of a lifetime.
When the 3000 ft. or .57 mile drag race squares off the SRT-10 gets the jump and starts to climb out ahead of the jet. Given the glorious amount of power that the car makes, this isn’t really all that surprising. The early lead doesn’t last long, but we’ll let you watch the video to see what exactly unfolds next.
We wouldn’t mind seeing more of this inter-transportation type of racing in the future. What other types of vehicles would you want to see throw down against the new Viper? From cigarette boat to Hayabusa powered golf cart the possibilities are endless. Sound off in the comment section below.
