Who says a sedan can’t be practical and fun? Dropping the kids off at school or running countless errands may not be the most thrilling experience, but it could be much more enhanced when piloting a 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat.
In this video, what starts out with some beauty close ups of the exterior and interior changes into this brand new Charger Hellcat getting in some track action. Not only does it sound incredibly beefy, it looks and performs as aggressive as it sounds. The Charger Hellcat certainly has the bark to back up its bite.
Dodge has stuffed its Hemi powertrain from its Challenger Hellcat and stuffed it inside its popular four-door sedan. Dodge’s new Hellcat Charger sedan has four doors for the family, but it was also given the gift of a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi making it the fastest sedan capping off at 204 miles per hour. Capable of conquering the quarter-mile in 11 seconds, it is faster than its two-door Hellcat sibling by .02. Not surprising with 707 hp under the hood and 650 lb-ft of torque sent through an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.
What is stopping all of that power in a vehicle of this size? Chrysler threw on its biggest production brakes yet in the form of 15.4 Brembo brakes that peek from behind 20-inch wheels.
The Charger SRT Hellcat features a variety of driving modes such as Custom, Sport, Track, Default, and Eco. Not so sure the latter is why anyone would buy a Hellcat, but, hey, whatever rocks those socks. Also, Valet Mode keeps random joyrides at bay by keeping the engine output to a minimum by locking out first gear and manual mode and disabling all high-performance electronic gadgets.
