A commercial for boxers was recently uploaded to YouTube. Why do we care about a boxer commercial? While we wouldn’t normally pay it any attention, this one caught our eye due to the company’s use of a classic muscle car in the ad. This commercial makes use of a ’65 GTO to sell its product. What the car has to do with boxers, we don’t know but it is still an interesting commercial. Thanks to AutoBlog for letting us know about this commercial.
In the commercial, the GTO is driven into an empty warehouse where it does donuts across the floor. When the car stops, a sharply dressed young man gets out and opens the trunk, producing a bag. The young man opens the bag and out come two boxer puppies. At the same time, an image of some boxers comes up at the bottom of the screen with a blurb about The Art of Camouflage’s new Mixed Boxers. As the advertisement continues, the screen goes black with only the same image of the boxers and blurb are visible. The final part of the commercial shows the boxer puppies hanging around the side of the GTO.
Maybe it’s the masculine qualities of the GTO that caused the boxer company to use it in their commercial, or maybe it’s some other underlying reason. No matter what the reasoning is behind it, the car definitely caught our attention. We don’t know how using a classic muscle car to advertise a product for men could go wrong. While we may not understand the connection, we can see how this commercial would appeal to the many different interests of potential customers-classic cars, being masculine and puppies. But enough of all this talk about boxer shorts. Can we just watch the GTO do donuts some more?
