All black everything, this car means nothing but business. Our friends at RK Motors Charlotte recently sold an ‘80s classic; a 1987 Buick Grand National.
A steal at $39,900, this immaculate Grand National doesn’t fail to disappoint. Under the hood rests a 3.8L turbocharged V6 engine, which cranks out a monstrous dyno-proven 550hp. A Four C’s four-speed automatic transmission sits behind the engine, with a 3,500rpm stall converter and a SCAT flywheel.
With just over 20,000 original miles on the Grand National, this car is basically new. With a roll cage fitted, power disc and drum brake setup and 17-inch Budnik X-Series Grand National wheels, this Buick is ready for either a car collector or tuner.
What’s more, the Grand National has a Currie 9-inch rear axle with 3.53 gears. SCAT PROCAR seats keep the driver and passenger locked in this beast compared to the loose factory seats.
To compensate for all the raw power, there are several suspension modifications from QA1, including Street Control Arms, coil-over shocks and trailing arms. Pypes Race Pro mufflers help the Grand National breathe freely, also giving off an aggressive exhaust note.
The interior looks to be in great condition as well. The gray and black interior is nearly spotless and shows no sign of age despite being a 28 year old car.
With more than $31,000 in engine receipts alone, this Buick Grand National is a steal. It is rare to find such an immaculate Grand National at a great price.
