Video: All-Chrysler Nationals Hosts Intense Burnout Competition

Something special happens when rubber tires are spun in water, some of the most impressive burnouts! If you missed this year’s All-Chrysler Nationals, you missed out on quite the smokey show. But don’t fret, thanks to RedLine Dodge we can all relive the good, bad and ugly burnouts put down by Chrysler owners from all over the country.

While some may think that burnout competitions are child’s play, the competition at the All-Chrysler Nationals was steep. All different makes, models and years of Chryslers were entered into the challenge. From 1960s Dodges and Plymouths to late model Ram trucks and Jeeps, all vehicles were subjected to the torture of grinding through gears while locked in place. In true burnout fashion, many vehicles blew tires, sending pieces of rubber across the track. While some vehicles fared rather well otherwise, others suffered engine and drivetrain damage.

Compliments of RedLine Dodge, a video of the All-Chrysler Nationals was posted on their website. The video captures all the glory of the burnout competition- blown tires, substantial vehicle damage, and of course, incredible amounts of smoke included. Some vehicles can even be seen smoking up their interiors and causing enough choking smoke that the water attendant had to duck down behind the concrete barrier to get some relief.

After all was said and done, a ’74 Dodge Challenger, driven by Rick Schutz, was crowned the burnout champion. The title didn’t come without a price for the Challenger, however. As seen at about the 6 minute mark on the video, the Challenger completed the competition with blown rear tires, melted mud flaps and a fire extinguisher having to be sprayed at the underside of the engine compartment. While we feel bad for the car being subjected to this kind of treatment, we congratulate Schutz on his win.
