Video: An American HEMI in London Frightens The Villagers

Perspective is everything and what a better example than a tuner Dodge Challenger with a body kit in the heart of London. In the States, the new Challenger is not that exotic. It’s not that small either.

At over two tons, it’s a few inches shy of channeling a Dodge Mirada and it looks even bigger parked on a crowded street in London. Surround it with Euro super cars and it holds it’s own very nicely, thank-you. Check out the video from CarScoops.com

The cars were part of a Forza 4 game release event that brought traffic to a standstill in downtown London. The red Challenger SRT8 is sporting a wide body rear fender kit, rocker panel extensions and gigantic tires that transform the car into a life size Hot Wheel. Chrysler’s new gen pony car is such a beauty right out of the box, these mods might be seen by some as painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa, but hey, beauty’s in the eye of the beholder.

Co-starring with the late model SRT8, was a lime green, resto-mod 1970 Challenger R/T with a 7.0 liter HEMI and late model SRT8 wheels. Both cars are owned by the London Motor Museum and were dusted off for this event. Each was as cool as any of the exotic machines gathered here from around the world. Watch as Londoners circle the cars with their cell phones and take in the baritone rumble of the big HEMI V8. God Bless America.
