Video: An Elderly Man Barrels Into Ten Cars In Grocery Store Lot

Most of us like to drive our musclecars wherever we go on the weekends. Sometimes to a cruise, sometimes to the store. Imagine being in the same lot with the driver in the video above. With utter misjudgment and a volley of hits, a 92-year-old man was able to smash into ten cars in quick succession. Caught by a closed-circuit television camera, the clip reveals the destruction caused by the elderly man at the Piggly Wiggly Supermarket in Mayville, Wisconsin.

The elderly man collides into three cars.

As we can see in the video, the elderly man’s vehicle bounces off each car he hit in the grocery store parking lot with pinball like fashion. Was it a vehicle malfunction or user error?

Either way, the elderly man’s car was crashing into each car with reckless abandonment. Maybe he was in shock and disbelief after backing into the first car?

What’s more, he barrels out of that section only to collide into a slow moving truck with the driver inside. The driver of the red pickup truck gives chase to the elderly driver but the video stops there.

The authorities suspect the elderly man has a medical condition of some sort. However, the pressing question is why this 92-year-old man is still driving?

But wait, the destruction doesn’t end here.

We’re not knocking the elderly man for his age but at that age, vision and motor capabilities are not on par with other drivers. With the ever changing pace of drivers, there are motorists far and wide that drive fast, slow, impatient, angry and so forth. Maybe it’s time this elderly man hung up the car keys for good.

However, this video proves the reasons why motor vehicle departments should really assess if an elderly person is still capable to drive. From vision tests and written tests to an actual driving test, elderly people should be cautiously recognized on the road just as much new drivers.

Imagine coming out to your musclecar parked properly, and then you see this happen. How quickly would you lose your cool? Be sure to share your thoughts below.

Please excuse the CCTV quality. Nonetheless, the impact the elderly man makes with this truck shows pieces break off the already destroyed car.
